Crusoe, Sr. MANSFIELD: Deacon Eddie Lee Crusoe, Sr., 82 went home to be with the Lord on January 28, 2014 at the Cleveland Clinic after an extended illness. He was born July 25, 1931 in Columbus, MS to the late Elisha and Annie Crusoe.

He served in the U. S. Army and retired from General Motors, CPC Stamping Plant, Mansfield, after 35 years of service. His hobbies were traveling, boating and fishing.

Among his many attributes include, but not limited to a successful business owner, Crusoe's Upholstery Business, community service worker and real estate guru. He was a strong believer in" giving back" and for his beloved church, Maddox Memorial C.O.G.I.C, formerly named The Temple of Faith C.O.G.I.C in Mansfield, OH, he volunteered as the church's CPA, was chairman of the Deacon Board, Sunday School teacher, trustee, a former choir member and performed many other church related tasks. He received a "Man of the Year Award" for Outstanding Deeds from Maddox Memorial C.O.G.I.C., 2008. Deacon Crusoe was a loving husband, father and friend.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Sadie Lee (Vails) Crusoe of Mansfield, OH; children, Lesley Helm of Austin, TX, Rick Crusoe of Mansfield, OH and Eddie Crusoe, Jr., of Columbus, OH and; sisters, Eva Smith, Evangelist Queen Kidd of Columbus, MS and Katie (Rev. Robert) Jones of Copperas Cove, TX; brothers-in-law, Ervie Williams of Mansfield, OH and Pierre Henry of Miami, FL; sisters-in-law, Carrie Lagrone of Columbus, MS and Hattie Crusoe of Country Club Hill, IL; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Deacon Crusoe was preceded in death by his parents, Elisha and Annie Crusoe; brothers, Jimmy Earl Crusoe, Elisha Crusoe and Cleveland Crusoe; and sister, Lilly Henry.

Friends may call from 3-5 pm, Sunday, February 2, 2014 @ the home of his son, Rick Crusoe. Funeral services will be Monday, February 3, 2014, 12 noon with visitation one hour prior to service at Maddox Memorial COGIC, 1148 Walker Lake Rd, Mansfield, OH. The service will be officiated by Elder Aaron Williams, Sr.
