Duane Bush Obituary
Bush, Duane Orson "Chick"

Duane "Chick" Orson Bush, 79, Mosinee, passed away peacefully at home on January 21, 2014.

He was born March 21, 1934 in Neillsville to Marian (Bremer) and the late Wayne Bush. He married Joann Wasserburger on July 25, 1953.

Duane served in the Marine Corps until 1956, earning the rank of sergeant as a radio telegraph operator in the Korean War. He then attended the Central Technical Institute in Kansas City for Airline and Weather certification. For 25 years, Duane worked for North Central/Republic Airlines in Milwaukee, transferring to Mosinee for his final 6 years.

Duane was preceded in death by his father, Wayne, and his sister, Delores (Bush) Opelt. He is survived by his mother, Marian, Neillsville; his wife of 60 years, Joann, Mosinee; and his six children, Lori (Kent) Van Meter, Muskego, Michael (Gayle) Bush, Milwaukee, Patrick Bush, Wausau, Jeffrey (Susan) Bush, Muskego, Traci (Brian) Petit, Wausau and Jodi (Travis Dzwonkowski) Schiller, Stratford. Survivors also include sisters, Donna Gault, DeBary, FL and Dixie (Fritz) Hediger, Neillsville; brothers, Dennis (Joyce) Bush, Marshfield and Daniel Bush, Eau Claire; 16 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and many relatives and friends, including the ROMEO (Retired Old Men Eating Out) coffee club at the Mosinee McDonald's.

Duane had many hobbies - making fishing lures, driving cars for Budget and Smith Bros. Ford, collecting and recording music, telling off-color jokes and lending a hand whenever it was needed. So much will be missed but never forgotten.

A Funeral Service will be held at 12:30 pm, Monday, January 27, 2014 at Beste Funeral Home, Mosinee. Visitation will be from 11:00 am - 12:30 pm Monday at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Neillsville at a later date.
