Dr. William M. Eiche, age 85, of Marshfield, passed away Sunday, July 27, 2014 at Stoney River Assisted Living. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday August 4, 2014 at St. Alban's Episcopal Church in Marshfield. Rev. Canon John Splinter will officiate. A reception for family and friends will follow the service at the church. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Marshfield.

Dr. William Eiche was born March 23, 1929 to Melvin and Elizabeth (Munhall) Eiche in Marshfield. He was a graduate of Marshfield Senior High and was a graduate of Marquette University School of Dentistry in 1953. Dr. Eiche served his country in the US Army during the Korean War, serving in Korea and Japan and was awarded the bronze star. William and Sandra Bump were joined in marriage on May 27, 1967 in Marshfield at St. Alban's Episcopal Church.

Dr. Eiche began his dentistry career at his family's dentist office in Marshfield. He later owned and operated that same dentist office for many years. Dentistry was a passion of his. Dr. Eiche was a member of many state wide and national dental trade groups including the American Academy of Restorative Dentistry in which he was a past president.

Dr. Eiche was an avid outdoorsman, including hunting and fishing. He was an active member of the Marshfield Elks Club, Marshfield Kiwanis Club, and many other groups and organizations throughout the Marshfield area.

William is survived by his wife, Sandra, his brother, Jack (Candice) Eiche of Waupaca, and his sister, Catherine McDougal of Deerwood, MN.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother-in-law, James McDougal.

The Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home is assisting the Eiche family with funeral arrangements.
