I am so upset to see this and regret not keeping in closer contact with Mike after closing our stores. I knew Mike from the jewelry business and have thought about him and Carolyn many times over the years. I told my husband (Scott) last night that I needed to call him and catch up but thought I would look online to see if he was retired or still working and found this. I am shocked and heartbroken for his family. Mike was a class act, so kind and genuine. He had an infectious smile and joyful laugh. When he spoke about Carolyn and the boys it was obvious they meant everything to him.
I'm thankful we were able to enjoy time with him outside of work as well as working with him.
My sincere condolences to his family from me and my husband.

I haven't told my parents (Charlotte & Jerry McBride) yet but will. They will be devastated too.

I have known Mike since approximately 1987. He has been a great friend to me and has been very supportive of the Blue Ash Police Department over the years. He would bring bagels and cream cheese to the PD occasionally to thank us for our service to the Blue Ash community. He dropped off the bagels approximately 2 weeks ago and I was fortunate to be able to speak to him then. The world has lost a great/good person!

Mike and I met years ago when I started buying jewelry from him for my wife and daughters. I have been w/ Blue Ash Police Dept for many years and always enjoyed spending a little extra time talking baseball and politics with Mike. As I received this information from another retired BAPD officer I have my Red Sox hat and shirt on. Mike and I often talked about our visits to Boston, him to see Kevin, and me to see my oldest daughter.
Truly Mike will be missed by many people but his family and business will continue in strength because of the legacy he left.

I met Mike at a jewelry show in Columbus. At first he was just a great vendor but that grew to where he became such a wonderful mentor. We're not much different in age but he had so much experience and valuable insight to share about the jewelry business. The so many evenings we spent having dinner while we watched a ball game and shared stories about our lives and families are memories which will be forever cherished. The sadness and pain of this loss can only be compared to the joy and the love which he shared with us.
