MURRAY-- Frank J. Retired newspaper reporter and editor Frank J. Murray, who capped his 44-year daily newspaper career with 15 years reporting at the White House and the U.S. Supreme Court, died April 18, 2020. In newspaper parlance, Mr. Murray wrote "30" at the Florida home shared with his loving wife, Mary. In summers, they shifted four months each year to their lakefront cabin at Orland, Maine. Mr. Murray described himself as an 81-year-old "news junkie," each day immersing in daily newspapers and hoping print journalism would not pass away before he did. As the digital age advanced, he relied on Press-Reader, an extraordinary read-till-you-drop app offering dozens of morning newspapers in the same printed page format so often soaked by rain on doorsteps coast to coast, Britain, and Canada. Murray led an exciting and adventurous life, always in pursuit of the next story. His family and friends sorely miss his astute and often surprising commentary on current events and know he would have had quite a lot to say about the 2020 wild ride "WWFT - What Would Frank Think??? His favorite saying: "This is not a simple world my friend, and there are no simple answers."
