SORENSEN--Theodore C. The Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) mourns the passing of Theodore C. Sorensen, whose powerful rhetoric and sage prescriptions guided numerous world leaders. Known for his work as President Kennedy's adviser and speechwriter, Mr. Sorensen led a long and distinguished career as both a public servant and prominent lawyer. A dedicated member of and active presence at CFR for close to 45 years, Mr. Sorensen served on the Board of Directors from 1993 to 2004. Ted spoke at CFR dozens of times and could always be counted on to ask the most provocative questions. CFR has been honored to have been associated with him. We offer our heartfelt sympathy to his wife, Gillian, his four children, and other members of his family. Carla A. Hills, Co-Chair Robert E. Rubin, Co-Chair Richard N. Haass, President
