Ronald Pecor Obituary
Pecor, Ronald A.
Ronald A Pecor, 66 of Danbury, beloved husband of Carol (Van Houten) Pecor, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 26th surrounded by his family.
Ron was born in Mt Kisco, NY on November 6, 1946 to the late Herman R. Sr and Ruth (Cunningham) Pecor. After attending high school he enlisted in the US Army and served as a mechanic during the Vietnam War. Upon his return from service, Ron met Carol and formed what was to be a lifelong partnership. Marrying in 1972, they made Danbury their home and raised four sons.
Ron worked as a painter at Joyco until his retirement in 1990. He loved everything outdoors: hunting, fishing, and especially gardening. He enjoyed playing chess and card games, but his greatest joy was time spent with his family: his children, grandchildren, wife, and pets (Princess and George).
Besides his parents, Ron was predeceased by his brothers John, Herman Jr., Willie, and Buddy. He is survived by sisters, Betty (Michael) Cooper and Wanda (Brian) Wilson; brothers Dean (Rose) Pecor and Mark (Victoria) Pecor, sister-in-law Louann Pecor, as well as his sons, Ron Pecor, Gary Pecor, Gradon (Amanda) Pecor and Douglas (Melissa) Pecor. Ron was blessed with nine grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and countless friends.
The family would like to thank the compassionate staff at Danbury Hospital for providing such good care. He was a fighter to the end.
A Graveside Service will full military honors will be conducted Thursday, August 1, 2013 at 11am at Wooster Cemetery, Danbury. Immediately following the graveside, a reception will take place at the Moose Lodge in Danbury. Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Wednesday, July 31, 2013 from 5pm to 8pm at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury. In lieu of flowers, Ron requested that any contributions be made to his wife, Carol Pecor, to ensure her security without him.
