POMPTON LAKES — Services were held for James I. Kane, 66, of this community, who died on Monday, October 15, 2012.
Born in New York City, Mr. Kane was raised in the Bronx, N.Y., and lived there before moving to Pompton Lakes 26 years ago. He was a senior electrical technician for Con Edison before retiring in 2009. Also, he was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during the Vietnam War.
Services were Friday at St. Mary's R.C. Church, Pompton Lakes, followed by burial at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Valhalla, N.Y. Arrangements were by the M. John Scanlan Funeral Home, Pompton Plains. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Wounded Warriors Project.
Mr. Kane is survived by his wife, the former Karen Schlitzer; his daughters, Kristen Kane and Maureen Devlin; his brother, Richard; his sisters, Pat Cagin and Marianne O'Boyle; and a grandson.
He was predeceased by his parents, James and Julia.
