One of the funniest is the story you used to tell before you sang STRANGERS IN THE NITE . I now tell the story an at the end ,i stomp my foot and remind that guy down there who that song was written for ! Such beautiful memories . Thank you , thank you , thank you For those priceless times .

Judi & Alison,

I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Martino when he was in North Royalton Ohio in June of '09. He was such a gracious and kind gentleman to me, my mom and dad and my brother. He was so cool: I would mention a song I remembered when I was a child, and he'd say "oh yeah, that was from 1963, and the flip side was...". I remember thinking that I did not want to leave, that I wanted to talk to him all day. He was so much a part of my family, as we had so many of his records when I was a kid. He seemed like an uncle to me. I loved his warm, soothing voice. I have been listening to his Christmas LP, and his version of "I'll Be Home For Christmas" is the best ever.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

In my opinion, he was among the greatest singers. He could take any ballad and make it sound better than anyone else could. This was undoubtedly because his immense talent and wonderful individualism were inextricably coupled with his passion to sing from his heart and not his head; as all Italian-Americans do. Additionally, I sincerely believe that he was a fine gentleman. I had the pleasure of working with him at an event in Los Angeles in 1986.

Addio Al. Buona Fortuna. Dicci buon giorno tutti mi familigia la.

For Al...

Do not weep for me when I no longer dwell among the wonders of the earth; for my larger self is free, and my soul rejoices on the other side of pain...on the other side of darkness.

Do not weep for me, for I am a ray of sunshine that touches your skin, a tropical breeze upon your face, the hush of joy within your heart and the innocence of babes in mothers arms.

I am the hope in a darkened night. And, in your hour of need, I will be there to comfort you. I will share your tears, your joys, your fears, your disappointments and your triumphs.

Do not weep for me, for I am cradled
in the arms of God. I walk with the angels, and hear the music beyond the stars.

Do not weep for me, for I am within you;
I am peace, love, I am a soft wind that caresses the flowers. I am the calm that follows a raging storm. I am an autumns leaf that floats among the garden of God, and I am pure white snow that softly falls upon your hand.

Do not weep for me, for I shall never die, as long as you remember me...
with a smile and a sigh.

To the Martino family,

Our sincerest condolences. My parents first took me to Al's concert in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, when I was barely into my teens. I got hooked on Spanish Eyes. Just yesterday, in the car, I was playing Al's CD and my Mom was wondering if he was still giving concerts. Imagine our shock when we found out today that he had passed away. One thing I can say for sure: if he's still giving concerts up in heaven, my beloved father Al, who passed away one year ago, will be one of the first at the gate.

God bless you all and sustain you in this time of grief. Thank-you Al for all the wonderful songs.

Dear Mrs. Martino,
I was in Switzerland as I heard about the passing of Al your husbund. I was shocked and so very sad. I met you in Las Vegas in the Orleans Hotel & Casino, we were sitting together at a table and enjoyed the beautiful voice and music of my favorit singer. You and me had a wonderful talk,so we met several times when he sang in Las Vegas.
I will miss his voice, music and his person truly. My heart goes out to you and your family.

I had the honor of meeting Al before a show down in coconut creek, florida perhaps 4 years ago. I knew of his unique fabulous voice but i didnt know what a nice, gracious, humble man he was. He even autographed a record album for me with the words "Thank You".

We Love you and will miss you. Thank You for sharing your gift!

God Bless Al Martino, his wife and family!
