BONNEY, Thomas William

Thomas William Bonney, a resident of Royal Palm Beach, Florida, died at his home on March 16, 2014. The son of James P. Bonney and Margaret McDermott Bonney, he was born January 20, 1930 in (Sheepshead Bay, NY) Tom grew up in Pine Bush, NY and spent over 25 years in Middletown, NY before moving to Florida. Tom retired from the New York Interstate Sanitation Commission.He was part of a dedicated team who were at the forefront of the Hudson River clean up in the early 60's. Tom was a member of Our Lady Queen of the Apostles Roman Catholic Church, Royal Palm Beach. He served in the US Army, was a member of the American Legion, Elks Lodge #1097, and a member and ranger of the Orange County Golf Club, Middletown, NY. He also was also the little league baseball coach in Middletown, NY. When he moved to Florida, he became a volunteer at the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Department. Thomas' memory will be cherished by his loving and devoted wife of almost 61 years, Joan Loretta Webster Bonney; his loving children, Patricia Bonney Lynam and her husband, Dennis of Wallington, NJ, Deborah LaFramboise and her husband Kevin of Cape Coral, FL, and Thomas David Bonney and his wife Michelle of West Palm Beach, FL; his loving grandchildren: Thomas, Kristi, Andy, Justin, Denise, Katie and David; great-grandsons, Joseph and Christopher; his loving sisters, Margaret Szemplenski of Greenacres, FL and Elnora Bonney of Middletown, NY; his loving brother, James Bonney and his wife Barbara, of Virginia, and a host of loving nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by brothers, Robert Bonney, Joe Bonney, Richard Bonney, Danny Bonney and sister, Mary Edmunds. Visitation will be held 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Thursday, March 20, 2014 at Palms West Funeral Home in Royal Palm Beach, FL, with a wake service beginning at 7:00 PM. A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Friday, March 21, 2014 at Our Lady Queen of the Apostles Catholic Church. Military honors will be performed following mass.
