Joe W. Fuller, age 90, a resident of Pensacola, FL for more than 60 years entered Heaven's gate on Friday, January 17, 2014.

Mr. Fuller was born April 15, 1923 in Lafayette, AL to the late Joel B. Fuller and Lora Mae Cotney Reynolds. At an early age he moved to Dadeville, AL where he and his dad owned a clothes cleaning business. He retired from Chemstrand in 1986 after 33 years of service.

Dad entered the Army under Patton's 3rd Army in WWII and landed on Omaha Beach in July 1944. He assisted in loading troops for the invasion force and was stationed at Omaha Beach after the initial invasion. He participated in five battle campaigns including the Battle of the Bulge.

After serving his duty in the Army he met the love of his life, Lois Beaird, in Cordova, AL. They married on July 15, 1946 and would have celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary last year. Mother died from ovarian cancer on July 3, 2013.

Dad is preceded by his parents, loving and devoted wife, Lois, daughter, Glenda Fuller McLean, and brother, Robert Fuller.

Dad is survived by his loving and caring daughter, Deborah Fuller Sammons (Larry) who misses and loves you more than words can say. You are an angel with mother and Glenda, and living without pain. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Michelle Cooks, David McLean, Jr., Kimberly McLean; great grandson and granddaughter, Taylor and Marissa Cooks, great-great granddaughter, Brielle Alexandria; brothers, Gary (Laura) and Ronnie Fuller; sister, Kati Williamson (Bill); and cousins, Wayne and Saunder Hood. He is also survived by his loyal and precious dog, Miley.

Visitation will begin at 10:30 AM till the service time of 11:30 AM at Pensacola Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Pastor John Pavlus will officiate.

Procession to Barrancas National Cemetery will follow the service.

Active pallbearers will be Larry Sammons, Gary Fuller, David McLean, Jr., Taylor Cooks, Johnny Johnston, David McLean, Fred Clayton, Robert Bound and Richard Frahar.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society or your choice of charities.
