Lloyd Dale Brown, 81, left this life to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 2, 2021. Lloyd was born November 22, 1939 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri to the late Louis Delmar and Dolores Irma Brown. Lloyd was a devoted husband and was predeceased by his loving wife of 52 years, Peggy Joyce Brown. After serving as a corpsman in the US Navy, Lloyd made Hampton Roads his home. In 1961 Lloyd became a Norfolk policeman. During this time he earned his bachelor's degree in criminology from Saint Leo's university. Lloyd retired as a sergeant in the first precinct after 28 years of service.
Lloyd's hobbies included fishing and racing cars. Through the 70s and 80s you could find Lloyd with his drag car "Bodacious" at Suffolk raceway, later becoming involved in dirt track stock car racing in the 90s and early 2000s. Lloyd was a kind-hearted person who always treated people fairly, and, will be deeply missed by friends, family and all that knew him.
He is lovingly remembered by his four sons; Michael, Christopher, Jeffrey, and Todd; six grandchildren, Savannah, Kaleigh, Zachary, Daniel, Kaitlyn and Taylor, and numerous other extended family members and wonderful friends.
