Helen R. Baehman

Hortonville - On Friday, January 15, 2021, Helen Ramona Baehman, age 92 of Hortonville, was granted her wish and went into her loving Savior's arms. Helen was born on November 4, 1928, to Andrew and Irma (Magadanz) Stangfield in Hortonville. Helen was baptized on November 4, 1929. She attended Cedar Dale grade school. Helen was confirmed on March 29, 1942. She was a graduate of Hortonville High School. Helen married Robert F. Baehman on December 26, 1947, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Helen worked as a waitress at the Candle Glow Tea Company in Appleton after high school. Once she started her family, she was a stay at home mom for several years, canning and making homemade bread, sweet rolls, donuts, and meals for her family. She then worked as a waitress in Hortonville at Byron's restaurant, Glenn's restaurant, Blackie's Cafe, Horton Inn, and Dale House. After her retirement, she did weekly trips out to lunch with her friends and neighbor Connie, until her health would no longer allow it. She also had a special place in her heart for another friend and neighbor, Sandy, who would always come to visit, bring flowers and lunch every now and then. This meant the world to Helen to know she has such caring neighbors. Helen attended Thursday afternoon Bible classes. She had a soft spot in her heart for animals. Over the years, she took care of many cats and dogs. Her animals were her babies and they could make her do anything for them. They also took good care of her and kept her company.

Helen is survived by her children, Diane (Jim) Winkenwerder, Betty Baehman, Leslie (Kathy) Baehman, Dennis (Julie) Baehman, Nancy (Pete) Ulman, Brian "Tucker" Baehman, Linda Baehman, and Andrea (Mike) Krueger; her grandchildren, Jeff Winkenwerder, Trisha (Chad) Ewing, Terry Baehman, Jennifer Baehman, Jessica Baehman, Kimberly (Zach) Stoeger, Karianne (Matt) Paul, Chad (Renee) Ulman, Heather (Tony) Spence, Robert B. Baehman (fiance' Nicole Schiedermayer); step-grandchildren, Sarah (Ryan) Spranger and Nikki (Josh) Ford; great-grandchildren, Lindy and Joey Winkenwerder, Lydia, Kendell, Alyssa Ewing, Brenden, Justin, and Nicolas Baehman, Dylan and Veronica Frye, Sophie and Georgia Ulman, Teagan and Hadley Spence, Wilder and Dax Stoeger and Jasper and Levi Paul; step-great-grandchildren, Laylah and Declan Spranger, Trenton Baumgart, and Will Ford and her sister-in-law, Joyce Stangfield, along with many nieces and nephews.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; daughter, Roberta Helen; son, Warren Thomas; grandchildren, Briana Baehman and Evan Winkenwerder; her parents; Robert's parents, Frederick and Sena Baehman; brother, Gilbert; sisters and brothers-in-law, Arlene and Melvin Heller and Ione and Thomas Hardy; brothers and sisters-in-law, Harold, Edna, Wilbur and Nola, Leonard and Mae, Donald and Gladys Baehman and Luther and Ada Huebner.

There will be a private family service held for Helen at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Hortonville with Rev. Kevin Westra officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery in Hortonville. The funeral will be recorded and placed on our website following the service.

A special thank you to our brother "Tucker" for being there nightly with her, making her meals, picking her up after her many falls, sleeping on the sofa when she was sick so he was there if she needed anything, and calling to check on her when he wasn't home. Also to our sisters, Diane and Betty, who took mom to the majority of her many medical appointments and doing most of her at-home personal medical care needs.

"Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened."
