32, Central City, formerly of Pittsburgh, passed away March 31, 2012 at home. Born August 2, 1979 in Pittsburgh, son of George and Patricia (Shogan) Kalanish; survived by parents; brother, Aaron Kalanish and wife, Myriam, Phoenix, Arizona; sister, Michelle Kalanish, Pittsburgh; nephew, Dominic and nieces, Isabelle and Sienna; graduate of St. Anslem Catholic School, Woodland Hills High School and the Motorcycle Mechanic Institute, Phoenix Arizona. George loved to ride motorcycles and quads and hunting and fishing. Friends received 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church, 738 Sunshine Avenue, Central City, where George worked as the church custodian and where Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Wednesday. Vigil for the deceased will be held Tuesday. Friends also received from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. the morning of the service at the church on Wednesday. The Reverend Father Joseph D. Maurizio, Jr. Committal Sacred Heart Cemetery, Central City. Arrangements by WILLIAM KISIEL FUNERAL HOME, Windber.

George, I was sad and shocked to read about "little Georgie." Looked at photos: He looked the same as he did way back when...cute and happy. Michelle and Aaron look great too. But the loss of little George must be thoroughly devastating to them. It felt like a kick in the stomach even to me. I'm so sorry for you. For him, too. Who could guess...such a short life would be in store for him? Please take care of yourself and take comfort knowing that he was much loved.
