79, of Murrells Inlet, SC, dropped her body Monday, April 2, 2012 after a wonderful life filled with the love of God, family and close friends. Her unexpected passing was peaceful and surrounded by family. Born in Sturgeon, PA, Mrs. Preaux worked as an executive secretary for US Steel after graduating as valedictorian from South Fayette High School, before becoming a full time mother and homemaker raising four children. Later she returned to the work force, joining Lorillard as an executive secretary. She touched many lives with her generous and caring spirit. She loved entertaining and had a talent for putting her guests at ease. She leaves behind her son, Brian (Sandy), and daughters Vivian Prentice (Greg), Valerie Crockett (John) and Diane Pope (Darren) and six grandchildren, Alec Prentice, Adrienne Prentice, Jacob Crockett, Vivian Crockett Squires (Shane), Ian Preaux and Kira Preaux. A memorial service will be held in her church, Kingston Presbyterian, in Conway, SC at 1 p.m. April 5, 2012. Interment will be held at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery (VA), where she will join her loving husband of 58 years, Hector Preaux.
