Mrs. Corcoran and family, - particularly Maureen, who will, possibly, recall my wife Jeanine and myself at SFGH (old name) from the time of my Internship there in 1970, and through 1983 while on Staff there. This late entry today (Feb 7) was because we were notified by family in Pittsburgh of Dr. Corcoran's passing away on Feb 29, and feel very sorry we missed not being there in person to offer our condolences to the family. He was, as I'm sure you know, a very caring person, had a very quiet but profound sense of humor and above all held dear his patients and their welfare at all times. We cherish the memories of him delivering our first-born, Nicole, now 25, and would be grateful for any contact via email to express our condolences.

When I came from Cuba as a just graduated physician in April 1960, I started my Internship at St. Francis Hospital and one of the first physicians I met was Dr. Corcoran. He delivered two of my three children, he became (unknown to him) one of my "heroes", I would see him every once in a while and always thought of him as one of the most decent, honest, and beautiful people I ever met. As I am approaching the end of my medical career I can only say that I tried to follow in his footsteps. As we say in "yiddish", he was a MENTCH. My sympathy to his entire family, may he be in heaven. Manny Krifcher, 5430 Beacon St., Pittsburgh PA 15217

I am so sorry for your loss. I met Dr. Corcoran when I was a nursing student at St. Francis. I then became his patient. He was there for me in my deepest despair when I lost my child. I will never forget that it was him who pulled me through. I lost touch with him for awhile then met him again through his son Corky. I will always hold a special place in my heart for him. I will miss him, my thoughts are with you all in this time of sadness. (Corky, I love you..Dorie)
