Garry D. Strang

Tillson - Garry Strang passed away on Saturday, May 25, 2013, in the company of his family at the age of 68. He loved his family, his job, chatting for hours and all things sweet. His beloved Mets brought him years of pleasure, and frustration.

Garry served for four years in the United States Air Force. He never called in sick to work and spent the last several years of his career enjoying his role as senior X-ray serviceman at NY Imaging Service. He once served as the Exalted Ruler of the New Paltz ELKS Club, as well as President of the Rosendale Republicans.

He is survived by his wife, Diane Strang; mother, Madelyn Strang; sister, Janis Jansen; children: Kathleen & Scott Herrling, Christopher Strang, Bethany & David Linscott, Susan & Brock Morrison, Steven Strang and Heather & Greg Jansen; nine beautiful grandchildren; dear friends Donna Herrling, Myrt Vitarius, Bill Haussmann, Adam Nogrady and many others. His father and mentor, Woodrow, passed away in 1994.

Friends and relatives may call on Tuesday, May 28, 2013 from 4pm to 7pm at Copeland Funeral Home, Inc. 162 South Putt Corners Road, New Paltz, NY 12561. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at 11 am at the funeral home with the Rev. Duncan Burns, officiating. Interment with military honors will be made at Rosendale Plains Cemetery.
