HYDE PARK - Josephine Ann Kristofik, 91, of Hyde Park, passed away on Wednesday, February 19, 2014. She was born in New Market, MN, to John and Mary Thelen. She moved to Millbrook as a young woman where she met and married Joseph Kristofik. They were married for 68 years.

She spent most of her life as a homemaker caring for her family. She worked several years at Charlotte's Dress Shop in Millbrook and was a member of the Hyde Park Library Quilting Club and was a breast cancer survivor. She was a kind and thoughtful person and loved by all that knew her. At retirement, she spent many years in Florida and later returned to New York where she resided at Stone Ledge Senior Living Center in Hyde Park. She always enjoyed socializing with her friends, playing Bingo, quilting, sewing, cooking, crafts, and taking Zumba classes.  She was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church in Hyde Park.

Besides her husband, she is survived by her 2 sons Joseph Kristofik Jr. and wife Nancy of Pleasant Valley, Robert Kristofik of Poughkeepsie, and daughter Ann Marie Barela and husband Benjamin, of Hyde Park. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren, Mark Kristofik and wife Jennifer, of West Palm Beach, FL, Christopher Barela and wife Amanda, of Staatsburg, Kimberly Barela, of Poughkeepsie, Nina Kristofik, of New Haven, CT, and James Kristofik, of Westport, CT. She is also survived by 3 great grandchildren; Kaitlyn and Colin Kristofik, and Emma Josephine Barela.

She is survived by her sister, Margaret Farmer, of Glen Allen, VA. She was preceded in death by her sisters Matilda Karn, Hildegarde Weiglhofer, Catherine Joos, and her brothers Cyril Thelen, Daniel Thelen, Joseph Thelen, and Anthony Thelen, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Allen Funeral Home, Millbrook. There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be offered on Friday Feb. 21 at 9:30 AM at St. Joseph's Church, in Millbrook. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Josephine Kristofik to The of the Hudson Valley. The address is , 121 Executive Drive, New Windsor, NY, 12553.
