Patricia James Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Jun. 2 to Jun. 6, 2021.
Patricia (Patty) Pearl Martin James Mother, daughter, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and best friend was called to heaven on May 26, 2021. She was born in Winnemucca, Nevada, on December 5, 1942, and moved to Reno, Nevada in 1955. On occasion, she would lead the way to return to Paradise Valley on Memorial Day Weekend to remember her Basque roots and celebrate with her many cousins. She loved her Basque and Irish heritage. Patty attended Reno High School and loved being a 4th generation Native Nevadan. She was married to John Lee Martin in her first marriage celebration and Rian Morris James in the second. She had five children. She loved them all fiercely and passionately. You always knew where you stood with her and she was admired and loved for that rare trait.
Patty was a warrior and always a bit sassy. She raised the bar and gave her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren a role model to follow. She had a heart for those who were struggling. She made sure every child had a bike, something she never had. She loved bowling, doing so for over 60 years, with her mother, sister, children and league family. Another passion was the attention to detail to her yard, sculpted bushes and rose garden.
Patty was the Business Manager for Marquis Floors (her brother Larry was the owner) and later at Ikon Corporation, located in the Business Center at the Grand Sierra. In post-retirement she worked part-time at JJ's Sports & Spirits as a hostess. She adored her JJ's work family. She was meticulous in the best possible way. Whether it was perfecting her home, dress or putting together the perfect gift - and she thought of everyone. Her greatest happiness came from caring for her family and friends. She will be missed greatly, but will make an ever-lasting impact on the daily lives of all who loved her.
