Andrzej Wieckowski Obituary
Andrzej attended Warsaw University in Poland and received his PhD and DSC. He would go on to become a Professor of Chemistry at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, as well as an editor for Electrochimica Acta. Andrzej was a leader in the Solidarity movement in the chemistry department at Warsaw University.
On August 3, 1967 Andrzej married Teresa Prussak, and together they enjoyed 51 years of marriage. In his spare time Andrzej enjoyed jazz music, dancing, sports, movies, and reading.
Andrzej is survived by his wife Teresa Prussak-Wieckowska of Eugene, OR; his daughter Zuzanna Wieckowska (Taylor Wilhour) of Cottage Grove, OR; and 3 grandchildren.
A service will be announced at a later time. Andrzej will be laid to rest in Warsaw, Poland. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinson?s Foundation at www.parkinson.org. Arrangements are in the care of Sunset Hills Funeral Home in Eugene, OR.
