Julianne "Julie" (Van Horn) Kleinbauer

Julianne "Julie" Van Horn Kleinbauer died peacefully of heart failure on June 15, 2020 at the age of 81 at her home in Oakland. A native San Franciscan, graduate of the Convent of the Sacred Heart and Cal Berkeley, she is survived by her son Chris Kleinbauer and son-in-law Chris Ramirez of Oakland; her son Mark Kleinbauer and daughter-in-law Susan, and two grandchildren, Nicki and Cassidy of Bloomington, IN; and her sisters Eugenia Wilkie of Galesville, MD and Joan Van Horn Healy of Oakland and their families. In addition to being a loving mother, grandmother, and sister, Julie had a long and successful career as a legal secretary and found great joy playing tennis and bridge with her dear friends in Marin County.

So sorry to hear about Julianne’s passing. She was a wonderful cousin. I remember her getting her mom and mom together for some special time together when they were older. She was a special person.

Julie was the best tennis player at scooping up balls at her shoelaces and was like a backboard getting everything back. She was part of our group celebrating birthdays/going to Tahoe and our Xmas potato latke dinners.
She was always in the know of what was going on with everyone at the club. A genuine lost.

Many fond memories of birthdays celebrating together, tennis, movies, walks and holiday gatherings. Julie was a great friend for many years. I will miss her and think of her good spirit often. My condolences to her family which she talked about often.
