Jessica Nicole Ghawi's life was taken Saturday, July 20th in the Aurora, Colorado rampage shootings at the age of 24. Jessica is survived by her mother, Sandy Phillips, stepfather Lonnie Phillips. She is also survived by her father Nick Ghawi, stepmother Mona, stepbrother Benjamin and brother Jordan Ghawi, all of San Antonio.
A native of San Antonio, Jessica moved to Denver in 2011 to pursue her career in sports journalism and adopted the name Jessica Redfield for her career. Jessica was involved in two charities "the little things" in Denver to assist victims of the Colorado fire in providing sporting equipment for those who have lost their homes. She was also affiliated with the "Little Fighter Foundation" in San Antonio to assist children who are fighting cancer. Three Memorial Funds have been created to support the Jessica Redfield Ghawi Foundation which is currently being established. These Memorial Funds will help to support these two charities and establish Scholarships for women who wish to have a career in sports broadcasting journalism.

A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, July 28, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Community Bible Church, 2477 N. Loop 1604 E.
