Faye Douglas Peeler passed away at her home in Pleasanton, Texas on Monday, September 2, 2019. Although she was able to recover from several serious health issues in the past few years, she succumbed to bone cancer.
Faye Doris Douglas was born in Bynum, Texas in 1926 to parents, Clarence Vernon Douglas and Bertha lea Harrell Douglas. She married Thomas Edward Peeler in Corpus Christi, Texas on June 11, 1948. Tom and Faye continued to reside in Corpus Christi, where their two children were born; Patricia Gayle and Thomas Neal. They moved to Pleasanton in 1963, where they remained until their death. After Tom's passing in 2008, Faye continued to live independently at the family home.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Bertha Douglas, and her siblings: Marvin Clifton Douglas, Joel Douglas, Royce Vernon Douglas, Allen Dee Douglas, Duel Ray Douglas, and Verla Mae Douglas Stone; her husband Tom Peeler and her grandson, Jeffrey Lance Darby.
She is survived by her daughter, Gayle Walters, and her children, Kellie Ann Thompson (and husband Chris Thompson) and Clayton Wesley Walters; and her son, Neal Peeler and his children, Xib Peeler and Andrea Dawn Peeler.
Her life was enriched by her great grandchildren, Zachary, Mason and Brady Moczygemba ( mother, Kellie Thompson ) and Rebecca and Tyler Thompson (father, Chris Thompson) of La Vernia; and Adler and Brayden Peeler ( father, Xib Peeler) of Austin.
Faye was a loving mother, doting grandmother, and avid Aggie fan. Always active in civic affairs, she worked tirelessly to bring Pleasanton its first public library, for which she was awarded Pleasanton's Woman of the Year.
The family would like to express their deep appreciation to her neighbors, Ira and Linda Nieman, and her caregivers, Alexis Salas and Barbara Jefferson, for tireless efforts to care for Faye these last few weeks.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation in her honor to a charity of your choice. The family will hold a private memorial service at Tom and Faye's beloved ranch near Tilden.

It was one of the blessings of my life that I knew and so admired Faye Peeler. She was a special LADY in the truest and most honorable sense. The world is certainly a more lonesome and forlorn place without her presence. She, however, is rejoicing in the presence of the Lord.

The Pleasanton and Atascosa community lost a great and caring individual. She will be missed by all. I remember my sister taking my mother (Jeanne Peeler Moore) to her house and how much my mother enjoyed it, she would always have such a good time with Faye. Our best to you and the rest of the family, I'm sure she will be greatly missed.

I knew Faye and Tom as they were my patients at Dr. Harlans office. It was such as joy to see them on my schedule for the day and enjoyed visiting with them. After Tom passed I looked up to Faye as a strong, independent woman not realizing I would soon be in her same shoes. We would talk more than work(she had perfect oral hygiene!), discussing cattle, the drought and everyday chores. She had a beautiful smile and a loving heart and I will always cherish her strength and determination. Heres to green pastures Faye, Rest In Peace.

Our lives will not be the same without Faye next door, but we were so blessed to have known her and become so close to her. Faye was a wonderful and cherished friend. I thank our Lord for giving us Faye and Tom 25 years ago as neighbors, He gave us such a wonderful gift. After Tom passed in June of 2008 my Mom passed in July that same summer. Faye and I really bonded that summer and she became so special to me, it is beyond words how much she meant to me. Faye has been such a huge part of my life over the last few years. It will take me awhile to get over her passing to her new life with Christ our Lord, but we will see her again some day. What a reunion that will be for us all. We love you Faye and we will never forget you or your loving kindness has been such a comfort and blessing to me. Thank You Lord for my precious friend Faye Peeler. we loved her dearly. Not good bye,we will see you again my friend.

My Aunt Faye was a NOBLE LADY. She will be greatly missed by both family and the community she loved and served.
Guided by her loving nature and smart business style, Pleasanton lost one of its GOOD ONES.
Neal and Gayle,
Now may our Lord Jesus Christ Himself, and our God and Father, who has loved us and given us everlasting consolation and good hope by grace,
comfort your hearts and establish you in every good word and work.
