Michael C. Long Obituary
Long, Michael Crossley

Michael Crossley Long left this world on April 10, 2014, in Bradenton, FL, his home for the last several years. Born in Kenosha, WI, on November 1, 1943, to Frances (Pfeffer) and William C. Long, he was a generous and inspiring brother to his three siblings, Pamela (Zenner-Richards), Racine, WI; Christopher (deceased); and Terry, Mokane, Mo. He had two sons, Stephen and Scott, daughter-in-law, Heather (Scott) and grandsons, Hunter and Hudson, Tampa, FL.

Mike was an accomplished and competitive golfer from childhood to adulthood, and he departed this world at the start of The Masters so he could get a greenside seat. In recent years, he spent many summers in Racine, playing golf with a group of old guys who would challenge each other with, if not skill, then trash talk.

A graduate of St. Catherine's High School and the University of Notre Dame, he received his master's degree in business administration from the University of Michigan.

He was a successful businessman with a long career that included executive positions with K. W. Muth Company, Masland Industries and Lear Corporation. He also led the development of the Sheboygan harbor as a member of the Sheboygan Development Corporation.

He has now hit his last shot and like everything in his life: he did it his way! A celebration of his life will take place this summer when his golf group reconvenes.
