James Ferrell Reeder

James Ferrell Reeder, 89 of Taylor, AR, formerly of Homer, LA, died Sunday, September 22, 2013 at the Northwest Louisiana Veterans Home in Bossier City, LA.

James was born February 8, 1924 in Haynesville, LA to the late George Clinton and Lena Estelle (Holt) Reeder. He was a retired Chief District Gauger for the Cities Service Pipeline and served in the United States Navy as a Seaman First Class in the Pacific during WWII. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Taylor where he served as a Deacon and was an active member in Sunday school, Choir, and Bible Study. His hobbies were hunting and fishing and he truly enjoyed being outdoors.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Kathryn (Baskin) Reeder; sisters Aline Camp, Novice Williams, Neva Temple; brothers Gladney Reeder and Ferman Reeder.

James is survived by his son James Barry Reeder and wife Pam of Taylor, AR; daughter Brenda Kay Boston of Bossier City, LA; sisters Mildred Brewer and Marjorie Campbell; brother Ray Reeder and wife Madeline; six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and numerous nephews and nieces.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 25 at the Old Town Cemetery in Haynesville, LA with Pastor Tommy Brown officiating under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home, Inc. of Springhill, LA. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Memorial donations may be made to Mission Projects of donor' choice.
