Stacy, Karisa and Nick...we are so sorry for your loss. Dan just recently told me of an email that was forward to him regarding Doug's passing. I hope you got the xmas card I sent you, as that was the last address that I had for you and was not sure if it was current. Keep in touch with us...it has been a long time since we have gotten together! We have found memories of getting together with you and Doug...I would love to get together with you sometime...I get up to the cities frequently since my mother is in a retirement home in Maplewood.

Stacey,Karisa and Nick,
We did not know Doug very well, but we wish we had. We know he would be proud of the way all of you helped him during his difficult battle. We all could appreciate the love each of you had for him, and that alone was self explanatory for what a special person he was to all of you. Our family extends heartfelt sympathies to each of you and wish you all the best in this trying time.

Nick and Karisa,
Your dad was always very proud of you. You were his pride and joy and really enjoyed watching and supporting your activities. I believe he will continue to watch over you both and your mom. Doug celebrated life and wishes you to do the same. Surround yourselves with good friends and family and remember the fond memories you shared together. He will be missed. You and your family are in our prayers.

Stacy and Family,
I will never forget all the memories of Doug from our college years. What a great guy. He could always keep us laughing with his quick wit and crazy sense of humor. We have thought of you guys often after hearing of Doug's stroke and have kept you in our prayers. We are very sad to hear of his passing. We will continue to keep you in our thoughts.

A Couple of things spring to mind when thinking about Doug:
-Golfing
-Doug taking John Ties's money golfing
-The Packers
-Tunes cranked in the garage
-When we tried to catch the guys who drove into your front yard-for hours!
-How crazy he was on rollerblades
-All the morning conversations after the kids got on the bus
-The fact that he was NEVER too busy to spend hours shooting pucks with Nick, even when it was too dark to see the pucks.
-How much fun he had teasing Karisa (...fun for Doug as least)
-The way little Nick looked at his Dad, and looked up to his Dad; so proud, so excited to see him when he came home from work.
We are so happy to have known him! We pray that God gives you peace and brings you comfort with the knowledge that your Husband and Father is free from the struggles of this world, and hope your hearts are filled with memories that bring you joy.
We love you!

Stacy, Karisa and Nick,
Unfortunately, we never got to know Doug. We met you through volleyball in the fall of 2006. However, more than you can imagine, you are all in our thoughts today and will be everyday for a very long time, especially during this holiday season. Take care, and Stacy, when you are up to some girl time, please call!

Stacy, Karisa, Nick and family-As you know, Doug was a colleague (nearly a business partner) of mine. He was also a good friend and mentor. Barb Swenson was giving me updates on Doug. Then, the updates stopped. I realize today she has passed as well. I have great memories. Remember the conference in San Diego? Wow, I am so sorry for your loss. Doug was a wonderful man. May God be with you and keep you all safe.
