DAVIS, Edward Graham

Edward Graham Davis, 92, beloved son, father and grandfather; passed from this life on February 6th in Fort Worth.

Ed was born in Minden, Louisiana on June 11th, 1921 to Lawson Edward and Ruth Stewart Davis. He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister Elnora Quade and his wives, Francis Mitchell Davis and Anne Elizabeth Townsend Davis.

Ed was a graduate of Minden High School and attended Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, Louisiana until the outbreak of World War II. He volunteered to serve in the Army Air Corps initially at Barksdale Field in Bossier City, LA and later was transferred to Forth Worth with the opening of Fort Worth Army Air Field (Carswell AFB). In Ft Worth, Ed met and married Francis Mitchell of Everman in July 1944. Ed and Francis children' are Diane Davis Readinger, of Fort Worth and Edward G. Davis, Jr of Houston.

After the war, the Davis family lived in Fort Worth and Ed was employed at the Tarrant County Tax Assessor & Collector's Office and later worked for the Leonard Family real estate holdings. Later in his career, Ed worked in the real estate industry as a real estate broker and an industrial leasing agent and property manager.

After the death of his first wife, he married Anne Elizabeth Townsend of Austin, Texas in December 1955. The children from this marriage are Thomas Townsend Davis of Dallas and Margaret Davis Lauderback of Austin.

He is survived by his children, Diane Readinger and husband Dr. James Readinger of Fort Worth, Edward G. Davis, Jr. and wife Suzanne Davis of Houston, Thomas T Davis and wife Leslie Davis of Dallas and Margaret Lauderback and husband Bill Lauderback of Austin. Grandchildren are Dr. Robert Readinger of Fort Worth, Tricia Schniederjan of Fort Worth, Amy Northcutt of Houston, Edward Graham Davis, III of Austin, Ashley Tilly of Boulder CO, Anne Elizabeth Davis of Dallas, Adrienne Davis of Dallas and Madison Lauderback of Austin. He is also survived by 11 great grandchildren.

Ed was a long time member of First Presbyterian Church of Fort Worth and his memorial service will be in the Chapel on Friday, February 14th at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to Presbyterian Night Shelter of Ft. Worth Texas or Happy Hill Farm of Granbury, Texas.
