Kimberly Sue Axtell Obituary
Kimberly Sue Axtell Kimberly Sue Axtell, age 40, of Georgetown, Texas, formerly of Sacramento, California, ended her courageous battle with breast cancer on Friday, November 9, 2012. A time of visitation for family and friends was held from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. on Monday, November 12, 2012 at Ramsey Funeral Home in Georgetown, Texas. Kim was born on the bright, cool day of April 16, 1972 in Arcadia, California to parents, James (Doug) and Dema Tomerlin. Kimberly and her sister, Kelli, enjoyed sharing memorable adventures and being mischievous together as they were growing up. Kimberly had a deep love for the beach, for travel and for her family and friends. One of her favorite sayings was, "When life knocks you down, get back up and ask, "Is that all you got?" She attended Leeward Community College in Hawaii and was enrolled in Austin Community College, where her love for literature and reading advocacy had led her to pursue a degree in library sciences. For many years, Kim had the toughest job in the military, as a supportive spouse and mother. Kim had a lot of pride in all the endeavors she encountered, but her greatest accomplishment was being a mom. She loved her two children, Christopher and Mackenzie, with every bit of her heart and soul. When the odds were stacked against her, Kim was a woman of great strength and never complained. She leaves a legacy of courage, love, compassion and inspiration for her children, family and all who had the good fortune of calling her friend.Kimberly will be greatly missed, but her memory will live on for all the days to come. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Alvie and Ethelene Sadler; grandmother, Juanita Tomerlin; and grandmother, Jean Tomerlin. To cherish her memory, Kimberly leaves behind her son, Christopher Axtell of Georgetown, Texas; daughter, Mackenzie Axtell of Georgetown, Texas; parents, James (Doug) and Dema Tomerlin of Georgetown, Texas; sister, Kelli Konopczyk and husband David of Cedar Park, Texas; niece, Mia Konopczyk of Cedar Park, Texas; nephew, Brennan Konopczyk of Cedar Park; grandfather, James Tomerlin of Smithville, Texas; former spouse, Peter Axtell of Mons, Belgium; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Kimberly's honor to the Breast Cancer Resource Centers of Texas at BCRC.org or P.O. Box 300040, Austin, Texas 78703. You are invited to share a message or memory in the memorial guestbook at www.RamseyFuneral.com
