Virginia Ann Alsup Mecredy Obituary
Virginia Ann Alsup Mecredy Virginia Ann Alsup Mecredy died suddenly at her home in Austin on June 18, 2013. Virginia Ann was born at Fort Sill, Oklahoma on June 30, 1953. She attended O. Henry Junior High and Austin High School in Austin, graduating in 1971. She worked for many years for the University of Texas, and in recent years for the Internal Revenue Service. She was a member of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas. She enjoyed road trips to familiar and unfamiliar places; family gatherings; old country music; and spending time with and staying caught up with her many old friends. Her humor, wit, and intellect were sharp. Her friends numbered many and they loved her. She is preceded in death by her father, Henry Edwards Mecredy, Jr. She is survived by her mother Virginia Ann Taylor Mecredy, brothers Henry Edwards Mecredy III and William Taylor Mecredy and wife Wendy, all of Austin; sister Martha Jane Mecredy Boring and husband Brad of Georgetown; nephews Patrick Mecredy and wife Suzonne of Houston, Evan Matthew Mecredy, Sean Taylor Mecredy, and Ryan William Mecredy, all of Austin, and niece Sarah Butler Torres and husband John of South Korea, and many cousins and old beloved friends. Special thanks to Dr. Ace Alsup III and his nurse Barbara Seligman. Memorial Services will be conducted at two o'clock in the afternoon on Saturday, the 22nd of June 2013, in the Davis Chapel of Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar Boulevard, Austin, Texas.
