Edwin H. Golden Obituary
GOLDEN, Edwin H. Edwin H. Golden passed away on October 30, 2018. He was born on December 14, 1931 in Corsicana, Texas as the son of Mace and Sarah Golden. Ed graduated from the University of Texas where he was a member of the Sigma Alpha Mu fraternity. After a stint in the U.S. Army Corp (Finance Corps), he began his lifelong career in the life insurance business with New York Life. He moved on to open his own agency, Ed Golden & Associates. Ed and his wife Dolly were very involved in the community of Austin. They served as Chairmen of the KLRU Auction, volunteers for Laguna Gloria's Fiesta, were great supporters of Congregation Beth Israel where they were members for over 60 years. Ed served on the Board of The International Festival Institute at Round Top and the City of Austin Employee Retirees' Board. He was president of the Austin Life Underwriters Association and the Chartered Life Underwriters Association. Ed loved every minute of his life and spent much time joking with friends and family. Of course he adored his own family. One of his greatest pleasures was traveling the world. Ed and Dolly made it to over 216 countries and saw all seven continents! Ed is survived by his wife Dolly Golden, children Jeff and Vicki Golden and Beth Marsh, and granddaughter Sarah Marsh and wife Pilar. Graveside services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on November 1, 2018 at Cook-Walden Capital Parks in Pflugerville, TX. If you wish to make a donation in his memory, we suggest The International Festival Institute at Round Top, P. O. Box 69, Round Top, and TX 78954-0089.
