Leonard T. Chojnacki, age 78 of Stevens Point, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, February 25, 2014, after an extended illness. Leonard was born on September 27, 1935, the son of Stanley and Lillian (Firkus) Chojnacki.

Leonard married Elizabeth Kropidlowski on July 8, 1961 in Waupaca, WI. He served two terms in the United States Army from which he was honorably discharged as a decorated veteran. A beloved husband and loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Leonard will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Leonard is survived by his wife Elizabeth Chojnacki of Stevens Point, WI; daughters, Carolyn (Mark) Lepak of Custer, WI; Julianne (Scot) Martin of Amherst Junction, WI, Valerie (Lenny)Herek of Custer, WI; sons Ralph (Sarah) Chojnacki of Stevens Point, WI, and Lorin (Peggy) Chojnacki of Amherst, WI; 16 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; brothers Stanley Jr. (Theresa) Chojnacki of Stevens Point, WI, Florian Sr. (Shirley) Chojnacki of Stevens Point, WI; Louis (Lorraine) Chojnacki of Wisconsin Rapids, WI; five sisters: Theresa (Ernest) Daniczyk of Plover, WI, Margaret Glodowski of Amherst, WI; Pat (Mike) Nord of Stevens Point, WI, Mary Ryckman of Plover, WI, and Rosie Chojnacki of Plover, WI.

Leonard was preceded in death by his parents Stanley and Lillian Chojnacki; his daughter Lorraine Chojnacki; and three brothers, Frank, Henry and Jerry.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday March 1, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Mary of Mount Caramel Catholic Church. Father Jude Dioka will officiate with burial to follow at the St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Catholic Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Friday, February 28 at the Jungers-Holly Funeral Home in Amherst from 4-8 P.M. with a Rosary Service held at 7 P.M. A visitation will be held at church on Saturday from 9 A.M. until the time of the Mass at 10 A.M. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to St. Mary of Mount Caramel Catholic Church.
