Arthur E. Teele Jr. Arthur E. Teele Jr., 59, an attorney and former Dade County commissioner, died Wednesday, July 27, 2005. He is survived by his wife, Stephanie Kerr Teele. The service will be at 1 p.m. EDT today at Bethel AME Church in Tallahassee, with burial at Culley's MeadowWood Memorial Park and Cemetery. Viewing will be from 11 a.m. EDT until the service today at the church. Strong & Jones Funeral Home (850-224-2139) is handling arrangements. He was born in Washington, D.C., and spent his early childhood in Arkadelphia, Ark. He moved to Tallahassee with his parents at the age of 11, where he attended Bond Elementary School and Florida A&M University High School and received his bachelor's degree from Florida A&M University and a Juris Doctor law degree from Florida State University. He served in the U.S. Army from July 7, 1967, to Dec. 12, 1976. He received a Purple Heart, a Bronze Star and the Republic of Vietnam Cross. He was a member of A.M. Cohen Temple Church of God in Christ in Miami, the Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity and the National Business League, and was a life member of the NAACP. He was a Mason, a community leader and member of many other organizations. In 1978 Arthur owned and managed the Capital Outlook in Tallahassee. Other survivor include his son, Arthur E. Teele III of Birmingham, Ala.; his mother, Florazelle Teele of Tallahassee; a sister, Dr. Synthia Roberson of Atlanta; an uncle, Preston Swayze of Cleveland; and many other relatives and friends.
