LAFAYETTE - A Visitation Memorial will be held on Saturday, March 30, 2013 from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM in Martin & Castille Funeral Home's DOWNTOWN location for Kerry David Carson, Ph.D, 66, who died on Thursday, March 28, 2013 at his residence in Lafayette surrounded by his family.

He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Paula Phillips Carson of Lafayette, LA; three children, Alexandra Carson, David Carson and Amy Bleidorn; his mother, Loretta Carson of Lafayette, IN; two sisters, Sherry Caldwell of Indianapolis, IN and Sandra Jackson of Lafayette, IN; and mother-in-law, Joyce Phillips of Lafayette, LA. He was preceded in death by his father, A. Roy Carson.

Kerry David Carson was born on July 22, 1946 in Logansport, Indiana. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy. Dr. Carson earned his first of many degrees at Purdue University where he received a BS. He also attended Indiana University (MSW) and Louisiana State University (Ph.D) where he was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. He worked for over 20 years as Professor of Management at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, during which time his expertise in compensation structures was sought all over the United States. He was honored with the UL Lafayette Foundation Distinguished Professor Award and also received several teaching and advising awards. Dedicated to his students until the end, Dr. Carson taught until his last days. He was a published author of 6 books and over 75 journal articles.

Dr. Carson was a loving husband, father, son, brother and friend to all who knew him, and he will be dearly missed. His ashes will be inurned at Lakelawn Metairie Cemetery in New Orleans at a later date.
