LAFAYETTE - Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at a 4:00 PM Service at Episcopal Church of the Ascension in Lafayette for Ty Ledet, 64, who died on Sunday, August 11, 2013 at Lafayette General Medical Center.

The Reverend Dr. Duane Peterson will officiate the services.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his life partner, Stuart Burgess; three daughters, Elisabeth Thibodaux and her husband, Kory, Amanda Ledet and Stephanie Graciana and her husband, Joey; his father, JP Ledet; three grandchildren, Andrew Thibodaux, Kaitlyn Thibodaux and Emily Graciana; and three brothers, Terry Ledet and his wife, Kim, Gary Ledet and his wife, Nancy, and David Ledet and his wife, Karen.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Ruby Boudreaux Ledet.

Tyrone Joseph "Ty" Ledet was born on January 5, 1949 in Thibodaux, Louisiana. He graduated from Thibodaux High School in 1966. He attended Northeast Louisiana State University, (now ULM), where he received a Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy. He went on to join the military and served as a Captain in the United States Air Force. He later earned his Master's Degree in Health Administration. Mr. Ledet worked as Director of Pharmacy at the Heart Hospital of Lafayette and served as President of the South Central Chapter of LSHP. He was a member of Chorale Acadienne, where he served as a past President and was currently serving as Secretary. He was a member of the Krewe of Apollo, where he served as their past King. Mr. Ledet was an active member of the Episcopal Church of the Ascension in Lafayette for many years and served in the Church choir. Ty was known for his gracious hospitality, and opened his and Stuart's home to many civic and charitable events. He was a loving partner, father, grandfather, brother, son and friend to all and will be dearly missed.

The family requests that visitation be observed at Martin & Castille's DOWNTOWN Location on Tuesday August 13, 2013 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
