Franklin Davis Obituary
Clarksville - Franklin Porter Davis, 83, of Clarksville, TN, passed away on Friday, December 21, 2018, at Tennova Healthcare of Clarksville.
Frank was born on December 1, 1935, in Lewisburg, KY to the late William Davis and Eula Woodall Davis. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Sandra Vick Davis.
Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, December 27, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at the Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Chapel with Brother Terry Joslyn and Brother Dale Taylor officiating. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 26, 2018, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Frank taught at Clay, KY Schools, New Providence (Burns-Darden), and retired at Fort Campbell High School. He played basketball at Lewisburg High School and Austin Peay State University. He attended LSU on a National Science Foundation Scholarship. He was a member of Scotts Grove Baptist Church in Murray, KY.
Frank is survived by his wife, Mary Tutt Davis of Clarksville, TN; daughter, Jennifer Davis Rooker of Nashville, TN; future son-in-law, Richard McFall of Jackson, TN; brother, Roger C. (Marcy) Davis of Bowling Green, KY; sister, Donna Davis (Carter) Russell of Mayfield, KY; several nieces, nephews, great niece, and great nephews.
Pallbearers will be Ricky Woodall, Jimmy Woodall, Andy Woodall, Richard McFall, Ronnie Steenberger, and Tony Steenberger. Honorary pallbearers will be Henry Woodall, Doug Steenberger, Roger Davis, Carter Russell, and Doug Chatman.

Johnny and I would like to express our deepest sympathy to Frank's family. He was a favorite classmate of mine at Austin Peay. He was a true gentleman, kind and considerate to everyone.
Johnny fondly remembers having him in student teaching at the Dem School and observing his career in education.

I was privileged to have Mr. Davis as my math teacher at Fort Campbell High School, and thought very highly of him as a teacher and as a person. My condolences to his family.
