Mrs. Dennis was born October 11, 1936 in Monroe, LA, the daughter of Marion Trousdale Lipp and Frances Louise Robertson Lipp. Her childhood years were spent living in Oak Grove and Winnsboro, LA. She was a graduate of the Manship School of Journalism at Louisiana State University and a member of the Kappa Delta Sorority. The Lipp family published the Franklin Sun newspaper in Winnsboro, and Mrs. Dennis began her newspaper career there when she helped her family publish the landmark Centennial Edition of the Sun in 1956 while she was still a LSU journalism student. Later, as publisher of the Franklin Sun, she was awarded the Freedom of Information Award given by the Louisiana Press Association. She lived in Winnsboro, LA while rearing her family where she was a Girl Scouts leader, and a Sunday school teacher and then made her home in Natchez. Mrs. Dennis was a lifelong avid bridge player and a member of the Natchez Newcomers and Panola Woods doubles bridge club. Mrs. Dennis was also a realtor in Natchez. She was a past active member of the Chamber of Commerce and an instructor at Louisiana Business College. She served on numerous boards and associations, both in Winnsboro and Natchez. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend of many who will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She also belonged to a very special group that has been together since their high school days, the "ya ya sisterhood."
