Funeral Services for Raymond Theron Black, 65, of West Monroe, LA will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, December 4, 2012 in the Chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe with Rev. Roy Duffey Officiating. Interment with Military Honors will follow in the Hasley Cemetery in West Monroe, LA

Mr. Raymond was born on June 26, 1947 and died December 2, 2012. After leaving high school, Mr. Black joined the U.S. Army serving in Vietnam. During his call of Duty, he received many prestigious medals and commendations. Mr. Black retired from Riverwood International. He is preceded in death by his parents, Theron O. and Nola Rawls Black; and sister, Dianne Black Hummel.

Survivors include his daughter, Brandi Smith and husband, Clay; two grandchildren, Jada and Cason Smith; two sisters, Carol Black Bishop and husband, Mike, and Susan Black Gardner and husband, Tommy; the mother of his daughter, Kathleen Haynes Smith; numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews; and friend, Jan Hatten.

Pallbearers will be Mike Bishop, Jr., Kolby Crew, Jimi Johnson, Todd Kennedy, Dave Rogers and Hunter Varino. Honorary Pallbearers will be Mike Bishop, Sr., Tech Sgt. Chad B. Bishop, U.S.A. F. and Tommy Gardner.

Visitation will be 12:00 PM until service time on Tuesday, December 4, 2012.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Northeast Louisiana War Veterans Home Library, in Mr. Black's memory, 6700 Hwy 165 N. Monroe, LA 71203

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Wing I of the Northeast Louisiana War Veterans Home, for the care and love that they gave Raymond.
