Crombie, Dennis C.

Dennis C. Crombie, 79, passed away Monday, July 7, 2014 at Pine Brooke Pointe.

Dennis was born in Oshkosh, WI on September 30, 1934 to Leslie and Bernice (nee Meitzen) Crombie. He spent his early life in Oshkosh where he graduated from Oshkosh High School in 1952.

He served in the Air Force from 1953 to 1957.

He attended the University of Oshkosh where he received his Bachelor of Secondary Education degree in 1961. He worked as a Social worker at Southern Wisconsin Center from 1967 until his retirement in 2004. Dennis was a member of Cross Lutheran Church, enjoyed playing baseball for SWC Tigers and the Waterford Rivermen, was an active volunteer in social and political activities and was a former member of the Village of Rochester Planning Commission.

Dennis is survived by his sister-in-law, Judith Crombie of Oshkosh; niece, Cathie (Rick) Sacho of California; nephews, Rick Crombie of New Mexico and Jeff Crombie of Seymour, WI. He is further survived by aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Richard Crombie.

A special thank you goes out to the Staff at Pine Brook Pointe Assisted Living, Seasons Hospice and Bright Star for the love and kindness they showed Dennis for the past three years. Thank You So Much.

Services for Dennis will be held on Thursday, July 10, 2014 at 6:00 PM at Cross Lutheran Church with Rev. Carolyn Sellers presiding. Visitation will be on Thursday, July 10th at CHURCH from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Burial will be Friday,, July 11, 2014 at Riverside Cemetery in Oshkosh at 12:00 Noon.
