Gregory Lee Grosskopf

Redgranite - Gregory Lee Grosskopf, age 70 of rural Redgranite, passed away early Monday morning, May 13, 2019 at his home in the Township of Leon. He was surrounded by the love of his family.

Greg was born June 22, 1948 in Shawano, Wisconsin, a son of Lee and Loraine (Stoehr) Grosskopf. He was raised in the Shawano area and attended the Marion High School. Greg served his country in the United States Army from 1968 to 1969 in Viet Nam. When he returned from the Service, he lived in Omro.

He had been employed as a finish carpenter for Boldt Construction, C. R. Meyer Co., P. G. Miron Co. in Appleton, and had also been self-employed as a finish carpenter. He worked on the Oshkosh Museum, the Court House, and a number of banks, as well as many other projects.

Greg married Judith Mae Bunk on September 29, 1990 in Wautoma. He and Judy have lived their home in rural Redgranite since that time.

In addition to being a carpenter, Greg was also an entrepreneur. He owned and operated Iron Man Equipment Rack in Wautoma for 10 years until last year. He was always prepared for what could happen. Protection for his family was his first concern. He enjoyed the outdoors, and was a member of Camping Dawgs.

Greg is survived by his wife, Judy McClelland-Grosskopf; a sister, Cindy (Douglas) Burich of Wausau; brothers, Dan "Bun" Grosskopf of Marion, Jeff (Donnette) Grosskopf of New London, Scott (Mur) Grosskopf of Waupaca, and Chris (Bridget) Grosskopf of Michigan.

After he married Judy, he acquired a very special family. He had some special step-children, Deb (Dave) Ross, Dan (Patty) McClelland, Amy Borski, and Steve (Sara) McClelland, many special grandchildren, and 3 great-granddaughters, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends, and his canine companion, Heidi, and feline companion, Libby.

There will be a time of gathering and visitation Friday morning, May 17th. from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. at the Ruminski Funeral Home in Redgranite, followed by a brief Memorial Service, and Full Military Honors. Should relatives and friends desire, Memorials will be appreciated in Greg's Memory in place of flowers.

There will be a Celebration of Life to be scheduled at a later date to honor Greg's memory.
