Deborah Heywood Obituary
Deborah Coral Heywood

1968 ~ 2014

After an extensive battle with cancer, Deborah Coral Heywood died on August 27, 2014 in Draper, UT at the age of 46. She leaves behind her beloved companion, Ed Brower; her sons, Brandon Clifford (Camille), Austin Clifford (Kassy), Derek Clifford (Chelsea); and her daughter, Madison Clifford.

Debi was born to LaMar Heywood and Susan Martin on July 5, 1968, in Carson City, Nevada. She spent most of her early years in Nevada with LaMar and Susan, and moved to Hurricane, Utah for her high school years with LaMar and Yasmin, She was a friendly, fun-loving person who enjoyed cheerleading in high school and was determined to make sure everyone was included in her circle of friends. Moving back to Nevada, she met and married Joe Clifford and from that union came 4 wonderful children. Her devotion to her children was a constant in her life. In fact, she had begun writing a book about her experience and advice in child rearing.

Debi, always striving to improve herself, was a hard-working, committed employee who excelled at every job she had. She constantly questioned the "why" of things and spent hours researching every topic in question. When an aggressive form of breast cancer reared its ugly head in June of 2011, Debi had been working on obtaining her master's degree in counseling. She was so valiant in her fight against that disease and her attitude remained positive. She was determined it would not be the ruling factor in her life. Her main focus during her last years, besides fighting for survival, was enjoying the company of her beloved companion, Ed, and her children and other family members. Her physical presence has left us and will be sorely missed, but we have the assurance her spirit will be always with us and that she is in a better place without the pain and suffering.

Debi is survived by her mothers Susan Kelsey (Ron) and Yasmin Heywood; sisters, Natalie Lenzora (Dean), Aimee Wright (Ryan), April Suwyn (Micah), Kristen Mauai (Karl), Anela Anderson (Erickross); her brothers, Nathan, Spencer and Dylan Heywood; granddaughter Zoey Clifford and grandson Carter Clifford and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father, LaMar Heywood.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 2nd, 11:00 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints 321 West 300 South, Hurricane, Utah. A private family viewing is scheduled for 10:30 that morning.
