Winchester - Mary M. Schenck, 97, went to be with her heavenly father on Sunday, February 10, 2019 surrounded by her loving family after a short illness.

Mary was born May 12, 1921 to Ernest and Maggie (Gray) Dodd. Mary was the 7th child of 11. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers and 5 sisters and her son-in-law, P.C. Winbigler.

In her 60s, Mary went back to school and obtained her GED and her license as a Nazarene Minister. Mary was very active in the Winchester Nazarene Church teaching Sunday School, singing in the choir and working with the children and teens for many years. She was a positive influence on many young people through her life in the church. She was a member of Harris Chapel Church of the Nazarene at the time of her death.

Mary was married to Ash Bigelow for 31 years and together they owned and ran The Anchor Inn and a laundromat. Mary was also a hairdresser. Ash passed away on April 5, 1976.

Mary and Ash had one daughter, Janet M. Winbigler and two granddaughters, Kimberly S. Hawley and Tammy Rhoades.

In 1978 Mary married Homer Carrico who passed away in 1985. In 1995 Mary married John Schenck, who passed away in 2002.

Mary was especially close to John Schenck, Jr. and his son John and to John's sister Mary Best. Mary Best and her children were special blessings to Mary for many years. Mary loved baseball, especially the Cincinnati Reds and the Indianapolis Indians. Mary and Mary Best spent many fun times at the Indianapolis Indians games. Together, they were known as the M&M's.

In 1988 Mary's first great grandchild, Logan Hawley was born. In 1994 Mary's second great grandchild was born, McKinna (Rhoades) Bailey. Mary lovingly and untiringly cared for Logan and McKinna and in 2015 Mary's first great great grandchild was born, Maci Lynn Bailey. Mary has a second great great grandchild due in June of 2019. Mary loved her family more than anything else in life.

Hawley (husband Dan), great grandson Logan Hawley (Michaela Young) and granddaughter Tammy Rhoades, great granddaughter McKinna Bailey (husband Anthony) and great great granddaughter Maci Lynn Bailey.
