Powell, Bertram L. Sr. BALLSTON SPA Bertram L. Powell Sr., 79, passed away peacefully at Ellis Hospital after a brief illness on May 22, 2013. "Bert" was born May 28, 1933 in Colonie to the late George and Caroline Powell. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War on the Tactical Command Ship USS Northampton. Bert was a member of Local 7 Plumbers and Steamfitters for 44 years, he retired in 1993. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, skiing, line dancing with his sweetheart, golfing and camping with family and friends. He is survived by the love of his life of 35 years, Toni Dybowski; his children, Michael (Marion) Powell of Norfolk, Va., Bert Powell Jr. of Castleton, N.Y., Brian Dybowski and Barbara Dybowski of Ballston Spa; sister, Marion (Paul) Hanifin of Colonie; eight grandchildren, Elizabeth, Ashley, Jessica, Lindsay, Tara, Danielle, Erik and Kaitlyn; and one great-grandson, Maddox. An anatomical gift has been made to Albany Medical College. A celebration of his life will be held at a future date to be determined.
