MANCHESTER - Robert "Bob" Allsopp, longtime resident of Amesbury, Mass., died suddenly on Dec. 19, 2013, at his home in Manchester.

Born and raised in Amesbury, he was the son of the late Robert Allsopp Sr. and Florence (Herlihy) Allsopp.

Robert was a graduate of Amesbury High School and Lowell University with a degree in business administration. A proud veteran of the Vietnam War, Robert served in the U.S. Army and was awarded the Bronze Star for bravery in the line of duty.

Upon moving to Manchester in the mid-90s, Robert's naturally friendly manner and sharp wit earned him many friends who will miss him dearly and remember him always.

Robert is survived by two sons, Andrew Allsopp and wife, Patricia of Pompano Beach, Fla., Aaron Allsopp of Jamaica Plain, Mass., and daughter Abby Allsopp of Amesbury, Mass. He is also survived by his former wife, Elizabeth Allsopp of Amesbury, his brother, Cornelius Allsopp and wife Leola of Brays Island, S.C., and half sister Pat Richard of Waterboro, Maine. He was predeceased by his other half sister, Beryl McCoubrey of Exeter.


services: A funeral Mass will be held Saturday, Jan. 25, at 11 a.m. at Holy Family Parish, 9 Sparhawk St., Amesbury, Mass. Immediately following will be a military honors ceremony at St. Joseph's Cemetery off of Route 110 in Amesbury, Mass.
