Of Franklin, TN on December 12, 2013. He was a beloved father, husband, grandparent, friend and neighbor. Retired security officer for the U.S. Foreign Service. Veteran of the US Army serving during WWII. Preceded in death by parents, Robert James and Lucille Messer Ford; wife of 75 years, Catherine Julia Ford; two infant sons; and brothers, Edsel and Lawrence Ford. Survived by daughter, Sheila Ford (Daniel) Kane; three grandchildren; five step grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted 10 a.m., December 20, 2013 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 1100 Gray Fox Ln., Franklin, TN 37069. Bishop Loope, officiating. Burial will be 1:30 p.m., Saturday, December 21, 2013 at Highland Cemetery in Hattiesburg, MS. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m., Thursday at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church.
