To Mr. D's Family, Friends, Students.
You have my deepest Sympathy. He was loved by many and we will never forget him.
Mr. D.
I sent you a letter yesterday to let you know of Donna's Burial at Sea on Aug 27th. I looked you up online when I got home to see if I could find your e-mail address. I found you had passed. My heart is broken at your loss. I am glad you are no longer in pain. I have saved every card and letter you have sent to me over the years. Your beautiful card on Donna's passing meant the world to me and Joe.
I am surrounded by beautiful paintings from Donna because you were her Teacher since she was eight. I know how much she loved you. You and she can now paint the Universe together. Rest in Peace.
You will be in my prayers forever. Until we all meet again........
With Love for Always,
Doris Carrington

I, too, had been a student of Bob's some years ago, in his little studio across from the Woonsocket train station. How greatly disappointed I was to find he had closed when I went back to look for more art instruction a few years later. Through Bob's guidance I became fairly accomplished. I will never forget the thrill of his approval when I finished this one work, a portrait. He looked, said nothing, then dipped his brush in red pigment and added a bright flourish on my canvass! There, he said. Now it's done!

Bob lived downstairs from my grandparents , Jim & Anna Ethier for many years. One year my family gave me art lessons with Bob for my birthday . He showed me how to paint. Because of him I became a pretty good painter.I used to go early and spend time with him before the other students arrived. I would watch him paint and listen to his stories about the Korean War. He was my mentor and friend. I will miss him but I'll always remember him for being a great guy. RIP my friend.
