Lester F. Stump, Jr

Lester F. "Les" Stump, Jr., 86, died Tuesday, December 20, 2016, at his residence. He was the husband of Lorene E. (Seitz) Stump, with whom he celebrated his 65th wedding anniversary on April 29.
Mr. Stump was born in York, May 19, 1930, son of the late Lester F. and Ellen (Kessler) Stump, Sr.
He was a graduate of William Penn High School, class of 1949, after which he served his country honorably in the U.S. Marines during the Korean War.
Les was employed as a draftsman for the former York Corp. for ten years, and plant engineer for Packless Ind., TX, and retired after 25 years of service.
He was a member of Union Lutheran Church, York, Free and Accepted Masons Lodge 350, Quantico, VA, York Gethsemane Commandery, York Knights Templar #21, and past High Priest for York Royal Arch Chapter 199, Lutheran Men's Club of York County, and Shiloh American Legion Post #791. .
In addition to his wife, he is survived by seven children, Randolph C. Stump of York, Gail M. Deller and her husband, Robert of Dover, Julia D. Kurtz and her husband, Albert, Jr. of Dover, Gerald E. Stump and his wife, Linda of Spring Grove, Joseph L. Stump and his wife, Dana of Shiloh, Elizabeth A. Johnston and her husband, Michael of Dover, and Laura J. Gobat and her husband, Matthew of York Haven; eight grandchildren, Jessica E. Conklin of Japan, Erik J. Deller of York, Andrew M. Johnston of Dover, Nathaniel R. Stump and Sydney E. Stump of Spring Grove, Jack J. Stump of Shiloh, Corinne M. McCluskey of Mass., and Ashley R. Rill of Hanover; and a sister, Frances Bredbenner of Windsor.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m., Friday, December 23, 2016, at Union Lutheran Church, 408 W. Market St., York. Officiating will be his pastor, the Rev. Joel S.B. Folkemer. There will be a viewing from 9-10 a.m. prior to the service at the church. Final resting place will be in Shiloh Cemetery, York, with full military rites by the York County Veterans Honor Guard.
