Kathryn L. "Kitty" (Boeckel) Mummert, 88, of Hanover, passed away Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at the home of her son. She was the wife of Norman L. Mummert who died on April 3, 2014.
Mrs. Mummert was born in York, June 8, 1929, daughter of the late Richard "Dick" and Sylvia (Irwin) Boeckel.
Kitty was a self employed beautician for 35+ years and worked as a secretary for the former J.E. Baker Co. for eight years.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Hanover. She was a member of the Mid-Atlantic Thunderbird Club and International Thunderbird Club. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, flea markets, and shopping.
Survivors include three children, Gregory N. Mummert and his wife, Colleen of Cowlesville, NY, Scott A. Mummert and his wife, Vanessa of Littlestown, and Shelby R. Cabral and her husband, Alan of Providence, RI; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three siblings, Mary E. Rankin, J. Robert Boeckel, and Larry T. Boeckel.
There will be a visitation from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, December 27, 2017, at the LeRoy R. Leber Funeral Home, Inc., 2290 School St., York (Shiloh.) Funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, December 28, 2017, at First United Methodist Church, 200 Frederick St., Hanover. Officiating will be the Rev. Gregory A. Rapp. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday, December 29, 2017 at Prospect Hill Cemetery, 700 N. George St, York.
In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to First United Methodist Church, 200 Frederick St., Hanover, PA, 17331, or to Cowlesville Fire Co., 361 Clinton St., Cowlesville, NY, 14037.
