Robert D. Bender
May 21,1946 - February 5, 2018
Robert D. "Bob" "Bobby" Bender, 71, passed away Monday, February 5, 2018 at Hospice & Community Care, Mt. Joy. He was the loving husband of JoAnne E. (Mellon) Wolf Bender, Thomasville.
Mr. Bender was born in Leola on May 21, 1946, son of the late Richard and Betty (Beck) Bender.
He served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Bob was employed by Herr & Sacco, Manheim, as a welder.
In addition to his wife, survivors include, three sons, Blake D. Bender and his wife, Donna of Lancaster, Dustin L. Bender and his wife, Jodi of York and Victor K. Wolf and his wife, Nicole of Thomasville; six grandchildren, Breanna and Brooke Heilman, Rece and Bryce Bender, Victor Jr. and Makayla Wolf; and two siblings.
Memorial service will be 5 p.m. Monday, February 12, 2018 at the LeRoy R. Leber Funeral Home, Inc., 2290 School St., York (Shiloh). Officiating will be Pastor Dennis Ray. There will be a visitation from 4 to 5 p.m. with full military rites presented at 4:50 p.m. by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. Burial will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, at a later date.
The family has requested, memorial contributions be made in Bob's name, to the American Lung Assoc., 3001 Gettysburg Rd., Camp Hill, PA 17011
