Joseph passed away Friday, Sept. 19, 2008, at Avera St. Luke's Hospital, Aberdeen.
Joseph was born March 19, 1930, to Joseph V. and Viola E. (Long) Sterzinger in Ivanhoe, Minn. He married Margaret Eileen "Peg" Berks July 4, 1957, in Minneapolis, Minn.
Joe and his family moved to Mankato, Minn., until 1962, when they moved to Aberdeen. Joe worked for Lever Brothers Company from 1962 to 1992, when he retired.
Joe enjoyed spending time and being a prankster with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Along with spending time with his family, he enjoyed gardening, hunting, woodworking and having a dog by his side. Joe loved talking politics, world news and trying to solve the world problems.
Surviving Joe are his children: Frank (Darla) Sterzinger of Minneapolis, Minn., Joe (Deb) Sterzinger of Aberdeen, S.D., Charles (Shelli) Sterzinger of Minneapolis, Minn., Billy Sterzinger of Aberdeen, S.D., Pete (Jodi) Sterzinger of Minneapolis, Minn., Mary (Pat) Kellar of Yankton, S.D., Katie (Steve) Meier of Aberdeen, S.D., and Barb (Fred) Wollman of Bath, S.D.; 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Betty Koopman of Ivanhoe, Minn., and Arlene Dahl of Marshall, Minn.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, two sisters.

I thought the death of Grandpa Joe was a dream. It wasn't. It was reality. I'm sorry for the passing to you all of Grandpa Joe. We all miss you!!
