Pierre - Faye Shoup, 54, of Pierre, died Sunday, Feb. 27, 2005, St. Mary's Hospital, Pierre. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 1, 2005, 4 to 8 p.m., with a 7 p.m. prayer service, Feigum-VanLith Funeral Home, Pierre. Funeral service will be Wednesday, March 2, 2005, 2 p.m., Faith Lutheran Church, Pierre. Interment will follow at Onida Cemetery, Onida. Faye Linn Tople was born March 17, 1950, in Britton, S.D. to Emil and Lorraine (Holler) Tople. Faye attended numerous elementary schools and graduated from Stanley County High School in 1968. Faye was united in marriage with Roger Shoup on Feb. 16, 1968, in Pierre. They had three daughters, Leslea Jo, Jessica and Stacy. Faye was an employee at St. Mary's Healthcare Center for 38 years, where she remained employed until her death. Faye was a loving and devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and sister-in-law. Her family was her greatest joy. Faye liked to keep active and enjoyed the outdoors. She loved taking the girls to the beach when they were young and sunbathing. She enjoyed gardening and took great joy in watching her flowers grow and come to life. Christmas was an especially enjoyable time for Faye. She made sure their home was decorated just right. She made sure to bake the family's favorite goodies. Her smile always lit up the room and she always had kind things to say. Faye is survived by her husband Roger of Pierre; two daughters: Jessica Deal and her husband Shawn of Fort Pierre and Stacy Ewald and her husband Bennett of Omaha, Neb; grandchildren Kaci Jo and Wyatt Deal, and Jonathan and Hannah Ewald; her mother, Lorraine Tople of Pierre; two brothers: Terry Tople and his wife Susan of Fort Pierre and Steven Tople and his wife Teena of Pierre; one sister, Renee Jackson and her husband Rick of Maple Grove, Minn.; and many nieces and nephews. Also surviving are many special sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law and close friends. Faye was preceded in death by her father and daughter Leslea Jo.
